Well its been a while.
I cant say -I'm back to blogging, life at the Myers house is a little busy these days. However, I have been sick this week with just about everything but the Swine Flu. Monday night I started out with the Stomach bug, which after a days worth of bed rest I got a sinus infection and by Friday It was topped off with, NOT pink eye- but and eye infection. All very tolerable on their own, but there is something special about them all together that just wiped- me- out.

I stayed home from work on Tues- the rest of the week I had a Mind over Matter approached topped with Sudafed and finally a Z pack! Needless to say all day today was spent resting- letting my body recoup. While my wonderful- wonderful husband was taking care of all the mommy and daddy duties today. So i had plenty of time to catch up on some over due blog reading. It was great to catch up and see what everyone is doing.

It seems there is a theme in the blogs i have been reading- being transparent. I would have to say that I'm cautious about being transparent with my thoughts. Partly b/c I feel that no one wants to read what I think. The other part is b/c I'm terrible with words- spelling them and putting them together to make a complete thought. This is the reason that most of what i post are pictures.

I think i have learned a little from those who have written a little more openly- I'm still a bad speller and am not good with words- however, inspired to write....

Fourth of July Fun and Apple Tree "Staged"

Ok, so I know this is a little late but hey it's not even Emelie posting this time it's Daddy (Brent). Mommy is busy now-a-days trying to find time to work on the site so, maybe I'll be consistently in on the action now (maybe?). So if you remember in past blogs, we planted some two apple trees in the backyard along w/ a maple tree. Well, it's only been a year and a half and one of them has just produced our first apple, it's a little too ripe but none the less it tasted ok. Daddy (me) took a picture of it to show Jake, I had to take a photo of it because I noticed it 2 days ago and forgot to take Jake out to look at it while still attached to the tree, well, I was out mowing the yard yesterday and almost ran over the thing, so I ran inside and told Emelie and she told me to go back and, "Stick it back on the tree and take a picture of it for Jake !" so today (Sunday) I did and proceeded to show Jake the picture of the apple on the tree. I think maybe he grasped the concept that the apple came from the apple tree but I'm really not sure, in fact he probably had no clue despite the "fake picture".

So yeah, mommy is off at ECE (East Coast Encounter) w/ our youth ministry from Christs Church, she left us today and will not be back until Friday! (YEAH!) Babe if you read this, I'm only kidding. We've missed you like crazy already!!

So, anywho this was a fun fourth of July video we shot at the fair in Eden, NC near my parents place in Reidsville. Jake got to endulge in his first funnel cake, some more cotton candy and to top it all off the firework show didn't start until like 10pm so it took all we could to keep him up to catch the first 4 or 5 BANGS! of the show and then he dozed off. We couldn't believe it, but hey, we've trained him to sleep through anything, so hey, what could we you do ?? At my parents house he also got his first taste of eating corn on the cob (started by Granna). My mom began eating hers and decided to see if Jake would take, and he did, he loved it. Here's some more video and pics from my folk's backyard in some pool fun! Check it out!

I am crazy busy, but would like to take a minute and show you something amazing-

While holding him the softy in me just teared right up bring back the memories of when Jake was born- There is just something to be said about the Joy a baby can bring. Mom and Dad were was so calm and relaxed it was amazing to see them in there moment. I was not quick enough with the camera or i would have shown you the family portrait that they posed for but could not take b/c i had a 2 year old in my lap. It was definitely a wonderful sight. We love you Baby Ayden!!!

blessing through a child.......

With everything that is going on all over the world there is one thing that is always a comfort and that is the joy of a child. Thank you Lord for the blessings a child can bring......

Sunday after church we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and fill up one of his sand boxes with water and play for a bit- the water was a little cold but i think he enjoyed it. Jake does not have too much to play with in the yard but we can be pretty crafty with what we have.....thank you greenville free cycle.....

A little blessing to Aunt Meghan- ( Me'me') Uncle Adam (Abum) Aunt Christina (To- we will work on that) Aunt Katie (Kati) - Unce Dusty too ( Dosty)- we love you all miss you!!!

New Job

So it has been about 3 weeks at my new job at Children's Health Services, and things are going well. I really like working there, it is a different world but it has been a nice change of pace. Its been hard not being able to check email, make phone calls, and many other things during the day like i was used to. So that leaved it to be done when i get home. But Jake is just to cute to give that time up with him. Thus being the reason for not blogging in such a long time. However i am getting the hang of things and i am not as tired as i was. So i should be back to Blogging more regularly.

Other than the new job, we found out they are cutting Brents hours at work, so we will be taking another look at our budget to see what we can cut. We are hoping to sell the explorer so that will give us some cushion. Our tax return should help some also. Its tough but i KNOW with all my heart that God will provide like he always does.

Brent is on the Men retreat this weekend so that leaves just me and Jake. I have to work Sat morning so Lynn is nice enough to come and watch Jake for me. Hopefully when i get off we will have some girl time while the guys are aways- who know what could happen.

so MOM no pics right now but i promise i will get some up this weekend.

God is Good!!!

i wrote this like 2 weeks ago but never got the chance to post it--

Ok so I was reading my friend Exie's blog(http://exieslife.blogspot.com/) tonight and the whole time that im reading it I am thinking to myself- "its like she is in my head", "that is exactly the way I feel" That has happened to me"- and when i got to the end of her post i noticed that she was talking to me. LOL well im sure alot of people but she definitely called me out by name. I love Exie.

To clue everyone in on what she is talking about- God has blessed our family in so many ways.
To give you a quick list of some unfortunate events that have come our way are:we had $1,400 worth of fraud on our account, our heat went out back when it snowed and was out for about a week then a couple of days ago decided to call it quits again. Our car broke /died around New Years. And I was told I only had two more weeks of paychecks - i was getting laid off. Sounds like everyone else out there, i know.

But the reason that all of this is soo awesome- yes awesome and in the good way, Is b/c since the first thing that had happened which was the Explorer breaking down God has always let us know he was going to take care of us. Since then we were given a car, I got a job at a pediatricians office, and Brent has mastered how to fix the heater. We have never really gone with out, God has provided in all ways with His perfect timing. We are sooooo Blessed!!!!

Busy Busy Busy.....

Thing have been soooo crazy. Since Thanksgiving we have not have had much time to just sit and chill. Its too much to tell. However, through all the craziness and unfortunate events, we have seen just how good God is and how much he loves us. So what ever you are going through, not only is there someone else probably going through the same thing, but most importantly know that God is there, and loves you eternally. Even though it seems like a lot is going against you at the moment, take a minute and step back and look at all the wonderful things you still have and rework your energy to being thankful for those things and not dwell on the negatives.
Speaking of one of the things that we are thankful for he is one of my favorite....
